Neither date is correct. The person who posted this shot (plus ticket stubs for the April 15 and May 17, 1975) on KISSonline is confused about when the picture was taken.

Based on Gene's costume this photo was most likely taken on December 20, 1975 at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (assuming that this person lived in Pennsylvania and just got the venue and date wrong).

If the question is "was this photo taken at Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh 01-15-75 or at War Memorial in Johnstown 05-17-75?" then the answer is "No" on both accounts.

I hope that clarifies things.

Looks similar to Fayatteville, NC on 75-11-27
this has good picture of the side of the venue, my other pictures from Fayatteville dont. :/
