It's not mentioned, at least what I can see, where it's from other than Louisiana. KISS played LA about four times in 1979. Picture by Art Meripol.

These 4 B&W shots are actually from Phoenix, AZ 11/10/79. The Benton Memorial Coliseum doesn't even exist in Lake Charles. It is actually the Burton Coliseum and is a dome shaped structure with a much different ceiling. If you google the Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, in old shots you can clearly see this ceiling.

Could the photographer mix up being in LA and AZ? Pretty big distance... He also said he moved to SE Texas, which is pretty close to LA. I'm just sayin'... But people has been desillusioned before...

Photographers are wrong all the time. Most have no idea where or when they shot different stuff. Either way that's definitely the Arizona Coliseum in those pics.

The correct name of the venue in Lake Charles is Burton Coliseum which is part of McNeese State University. The only photo I found of that venue didn't really show all of the ceiling but what little they showed didn't look like the same ceiling as seen in these shots. I think fasterpdiddy is 100% correct and these are from Phoenix not Lake Charles.

Fasterpdiddy needs special thanks for his invaluable research efforts and keen eye for detail. Also, much appreciation to all those on this forum who care enough about the dates/locations for KISS photos to get correct information. Working together, I think we will eventually solve all the mysteries.
