I recently discovered that the date for this photo is incorrect. Photographers commonly get the date/location wrong for their own photos and this is one of those times. The first clue was Gene wore his spike boots for this shoot and the actual concert. However, there are confirmed photos showing Gene wearing the Love Gun boots up to February 14, 1983 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Also, there is video footage from Portland, Maine showing Gene in the Love Gun boots. The first confirmed appearance of the spike boots is February 18, 1983 in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The actual date for this photo shoot is March 1, 1983 Kansas City, Missouri, Didi Zill photographer.
