According to KISS Alive Forever this was a brief three minute segment on Nov. 1, 1980.

No, it was Nov. 2. According to KISS Alive Forever "The band quietly entered the country, landing with little fanfare on November 1. The following afternoon, KISS make a brief 3-minute appearance alongside Lord Mayor Doug Sutherlnad on the balcony of the Town Hall in downtown Sydney" (p. 113)
