Am 11.9 findet auf dem Raceway ein Rennen statt, das Rock&Roll 400, wo u.a. die 3 Renner mit dem Kissdesign fahren werde...

KISS Kick Off Chevy Rock & Roll 400
Continuing one of the most unique and successful partnerships in all of sports, representatives from Chevrolet and Action Performance were joined by NASCAR Busch Series driver Ron Hornaday, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Matt Crafton and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the rock band KISS at Richmond International Raceway today to announce the return of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race.
The race, which is set for Saturday, September 11 "under the lights" is part of a four-race weekend at Richmond International Raceway that will feature concerts and special paint schemes like the ones unveiled today at the track. Simmons and Stanley helped unveil Hornaday's No. 2 KISS/AC/Delco NASCAR Busch Series car, Crafton's No. 6 Goodwrench Chevrolet NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ride, Kevin Harvick's No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series car and the official Chevrolet pace car that will be used throughout the weekend.
Last year we have a band on our car here at Richmond and we had a good night," Hornaday said. "You kind of feel like Gene (Simmons) when you're all done racing at Richmond with all of the smoke and your tongue starts hanging out. This is actually very cool. I look forward to taking the KISS car to Victory Lane."
While the concert lineup and other musical/car pairings will be announced in the near future, Simmons and Stanley were excited about the band having special KISS-themed vehicles in all three NASCAR races during the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend.
"KISS has been involved with NASCAR since the fall of 2001," Stanley said. "It's a great American sport and it has been great for us to be involved with Chevrolet. We couldn't be more pleased to be with a company like Chevrolet so here we are with the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 and we (have cars) in all three races which is something we have never done before. So we intend on going out there and winning and exposing that much more people to racing and Rock & Roll, which go hand and hand together. We are really proud to be a part of this."
"This is definitely one of the coolest things we have ever done here at Richmond International Raceway and as always, the winners are the fans," track president Doug Fritz. "Having KISS visit the track to kick things off for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend is the perfect way to get our fans excited for race weekend. The paint schemes are awesome and will look really great under the lights."
The quadruple header weekend begins Thursday, September 9 with a Crown Royal IROC Series race and a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event. The Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race is set for Friday, September 10 and the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 will highlight the weekend on Saturday, September 11.
The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 will also be the final race that will determine the drivers that will compete in the "Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup." Under NASCAR's new points system for its top series, only the top 10 drivers and any other drivers within 400 points of the lead after the 26th race of the season will be eligible for the title. After the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, the points standing will be adjusted in five point drops and the eligible drivers will battle if out for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series title over the last ten events starting the week after the Chevy Rock & Roll 400.
