Re: Has KISS stayed at the party too long?

Nah they are fine look about any band that has been around as long as KISS has is gonna be showing some wear.
And here's the thing when they do decide to retire nobody is gonna get hung up on some of the problems they may have had toward the end they'll remember them in their prime about like everything else.
In fact the longer they stay out there (within reason of course) the more likely they'll be remembered by the public at large.
Had KISS called it a day after Peter and Ace left (the first time) they wouldn't have been remembered near as much as they would be now.
As long as they are drawing nice crowds I think they belong out there.

There are a few different ways to answer that question. The first and immediate answer is NO - if they are still popular enough to sell out concert halls and albums then what the hell are you talking about? Or on second thought - YES they suck now in comparison to what they once were. The exciting new cutting edge legends are long gone and every day they are out there makes a mockery of their former glory. BUT - they're making a mockery of it all the way to the bank!

Where is the big US tour in support of Monster? I think the last time Kiss didn't do a US tour for an album it was after the release of Unmasked and The Elder. I don't count COS. Maybe they have a full US Monster tour planned and about to be released, but I guess only time will tell. I agree TOTALLY with the second part of your post. :OK:

The size of the tour will speak volumes. Less dates just means the interest isn't there.And Gene will not want to lose money by announcing dates that only half sell out. Money,money,money.

Hi people, being a Paul's fan (he's my favorite member with Peter), it breaks my heart to say that Paul's voice is killing the band right now and since the fall of 2009. Remember that's really when his voice started to get out of shape:

They should stop touring like crazy or find another lead vocalist, the voice is not at the party anymore since almost 3 years.
This year's shows... well still bad voice too;

I'm feeling embarrassed for him and the band:
